Professional Experience:

Development Economist with 10+ years of experience in economic research, policy analysis, international development and research capacity building, with a strong focus on Africa.

My professional experience spans academic institutions, United Nations agencies, international development organisations and research networks. At the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), I worked as a Research Fellow in Ethiopia and as aConsultant in Niger, contributing to research and policy analysis on structural transformation, regional integration, financial development, inclusive growth and the African Continental Free Trade Area. I produced policy-oriented research, analytical briefs and knowledge products and collaborated with governments, regional institutions, UN agencies and development partners. As a Tutor with IDEP-UNECA, I delivered training on macroeconomic and fiscal policies to policymakers and development practitioners. I have also contributed to international research and capacity-building initiatives through AAAWE, Korea University, the University of Seychelles and ASPROWORDA, mentoring researchers, supervising doctoral candidates and delivering training in research methodology, scientific writing and evidence-based policymaking.

My experience combines quantitative economic research, applied econometrics, policy engagement, stakeholder coordination, research leadership and international collaboration. I am particularly interested in opportunities involving development economics, economic policy, research and policy analysis, consulting, and evidence-based development interventions.

Education:

I hold a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium (2019). My doctoral research focused on inequality, financial development and the knowledge economy in Africa, strengthening my expertise in development economics, quantitative analysis and applied econometrics.

My academic training has provided a strong foundation in economic research, empirical analysis, policy-oriented research and evidence-based policymaking. My research interests include inclusive development, inequality, financial inclusion, gender and development, digital transformation, labour markets, education and ICT for Development.

I have also undertaken professional training relevant to international development and policy practice, including Project Cycle Management at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO), Women’s Economic Empowerment through the UN Women Training Centre, and Sustainable IT Project Management in Belgium.
